Accepted New Position as Executive Director of Academic and Student Services for the Affton School District - July 1 2018


JOB GOAL: 

Provide leadership, management, and coordination of assessment, data analysis, curriculum, and professional development systems while also executing key tasks associated with federal programs and student services. This includes serving as the district test coordinator, monitoring the curriculum revision cycle and curriculum writing projects as well as developing federal program plans and supporting basic student service functions connected to enrollment, residency, homeless, and foster care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a master’s degree, specialist or doctorate preferred
  • Requires appropriate Missouri administrative certification
  • Requires successful administrative experience as an assistant principal, principal, coordinator, or director
  • Requires successful experience in teaching
  • Requires successful experience in creating, organizing, & delivering multiple forms of professional development for adults while integrating technology in the process
  • Requires knowledge of standards-based curriculum
  • Requires knowledgeable of use of assessment practices in schools & management of assessment data
  • Requires experience instructing/coaching teachers in effective use of assessment systems & assessment data management tasks to make data-driven decisions
  • Prefers experience with building or district level test coordination
  • Requires experience with the development and management of budgets
  • Prefers knowledge of state and federal grants management
  • Prefers experience with basic student services such as enrollment, residency, and the McKinney-Vento Act
  • Requires strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Requires proficiency in using technology equipment, (computers, SMART Boards, etc.) software (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, etc.) and the internet in presentations & in the instructional process
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and positive interaction with students, staff & the community, courteous & professional demeanor & appearance at all times
  • Requires extensive listening skills and initiative to solve problems
  • Requires evidence of ability to implement and sustain programs focused on improving student achievement within a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural school setting with energy and enthusiasm
  • Requires evidence of a strong professional learning network that supports innovative practices
  • Requires skills as a connected/digital leader
